Data Transformation

Data Transformation services are the output of the Data Mapping component. In there, the developer is able to prepare the data in the format ready to be exploited within the i4 App. This output is packaged as standalone library. Execution statistics are also produced and shall be available through the i4FS System Dashboard.

The developers willing to use these transformation services can access them in two different ways:

  • Firstly, the developers can get a ZIP file containing the Docker Image sources and preconfigured scripts that will allow them building, running, and debugging a transformation service.
  • Secondly, the developers can re-use these services by connecting to the i4FS Marketplace and drag & drop them into the i4 App skeleton.

For using the transformation routines maps in the skeleton of a i4 App, the developers need to have access and re-use the following i4FS elements:

i4 Process Designer
i4FS Marketplace

i4 Process Designer
The Data Transformation libraries are used at runtime of the i4 App, however for them to be used, they need to be placed as one of the steps when generating the i4 App skeleton within the Process Designer.

i4FS Marketplace
These deployed libraries have been annotated, uploaded and published to the i4FS Marketplace by the Data Mapping component.

Build once, run everywhere

Developers get a Docker ready transformation service that can be run anywhere (local, custom service), and published to Marketplace.

i4FS ready

Transformations can be used when designing an i4 App in the Process Designer or via the SDK in Studio.

Updating

Developers are able to update transformation services making use of Data Mapping tool.
